Talk in Grey - Paul Van Dyk (feat. Ryan Merchant)
I love this guy's voice. It's got that stiff private schooled quality and an uber dangerous edge at the same time too!
Yeah. I make images of people in my head based on their voice. Last time I did that, I ended up convincing myself that Sinatra was an old black singer. >_< Ryan Merchant, too, is not black, and even has a beard. Hm.... didn't see that coming.
If I could talk in grey. Hm... what would it be like to talk in a colour? As romantic as it sounds, I DO have an idea about how it could happen. Arthur C Clarke has explored the idea very nicely in his Rama Series of books. [They're one of my favorite works of scifi, btw. Do read. ^_^ ] The alien species that he calls the octospiders, talk with stripes of colour runnig across their heads. He's made a very nice point. Because they use colour, they have literally an infinite range of espression. With even minute adjustments of wavelength, the very meaning of a sentence could be changed. Infact, the degree of things would be very easy to express, and maybe even calibrated to absolutes! (Remember how I keep wondering if MY idea of "OMG awesome!!!" matches YOUR idea of "OMG awesome!" or just it actually just reach up to the level of "omg nice!" ???) As fascinating as the idea is, all I really care about right now, is that the song has a nice flow and feel to it, and has been playing on my phone for most of today during my commute. :)
Oh... very weird thing happened today. I suppose I'll have to explain this from the beginning for you to understand anything.
Hmm... Lets see. My Sony Ericsson k750i phone wasn't workin too well. Sluggish response, malfunctioning buttons, the general thing. So, like any responsible parent, I took my baby to the hospital. I was made to wait in line for like an hour, with other people. There were pictures of shiny new phones all around. I gently pacified my phone, telling it that replacement is not even anywhere close to my mind right then... I was finally called inside. I showed the man in the white coat my baby. After a basic observation of symptoms and stuff, he looked back up to me. He had a grave face. Maybe in that line of work, seeing as many bad phones as he has, you get to keep that expression for life. He said he'll have to keep my phone with him for observation. I had to do it, knowing what's best.
A few days later, I realized that I had lost my job sheet. The only piece of paper that would convince the men in white that I owned that phone of mine! I went to the service centre. They said I had to get an affidavit made from the local court of law. Fine. That being done, I went back a few days later, with the required stuff. Now, when I talk to the female behind the counter, she tells me that the guy I'd talked to the last time had no idea what he was talkin about coz he was a temp, and not only do I need to get a new affidavit made, but they claimed that I'd given my phone for repair on the 15th of October. Hm... very funny.
I distinctly remembered that it was the 11th of December that I gave my phone for repair. Why the December? Coz It was a day after I went to Lamington road to buy my new PC. Why 11th? Coz the bills I have for the PC read as 10th Dec. So what makes me sure it's the 11th? Coz I distinctly remember spending an entire morning at the service centre to give my phone for repair. That being done, I went to Lamington road to pick up the rest of the parts for my PC. Since it was taking a long time I spent most of the day sitting in the Kemps Corner Crossword, reading a book. The food at Moche's was only so-so, btw. Even the coffee wasn't good. Anyway, so I have Tuesday, 11th December imprinted in my head as big waste of time. So despite all this, the woman insisted the phone was given on the 15th of October. :/ I didn't bother arguing with her, coz she told me to come back on Monday and talk to the manager coz the place didn't take responsibility for phone that were with them more than a month. <_<
*sigh* have to go back to the Sony Ericsson service centre place on Monday. :/
If I could talk in grey....~*
Pssst.. This is supposed to be a remix. Any idea who the original singer is?
